9:00 a.m. Bible-in-Life Hour

Kids (K-2nd grade) will be enjoying some great Bible learning times. Boys and girls work at their own pace through the Bible memory system in their handbooks; game time is a highlight each week. Parent participation in the memory work and encouragement at home are the keys to a successful experience for a child in the AWANA Sparks program.
GIRLS CLUB (grades 3-4) and BOYS CLUB (grades 3-4)
Each week students engage in small group Bible memorization, crafts and games, and hear from various speakers who teach Bible lessons. Ratios are kept small to ensure that adult leaders and kids get to know one another and friendships are built among kids that we hope will last a lifetime.
Beginning in the fall of 2010, clubbers in third or fourth grade whether advancing from Sparks® or new to Awana® Clubs™ will start Truth & Training® in the T&T Ultimate Adventure™ Club. For advancing clubbers, Ultimate Adventure will build on the foundation of biblical wisdom established in Sparks. Adventurers will grow in biblical knowledge (Truth) and learn to serve Jesus Christ through the practice of grace and mercy in social interactions and through boldly sharing their faith (Training).
GIRLS CLUB (Grades 5-6) and BOYS CLUB (Grades 5-6)
Beginning fall 2010, clubbers in fifth or sixth grade - whether veteran clubbers or new to Awana - will start in the T&T Ultimate Challenge™ Club. Ultimate Challenge helps bridge the gap between childrens ministry and youth ministry. Challengers will grow in knowledge of God and His Word, His Son and the Holy Spirit (Truth). Then they will apply what they learn to relationships in family and friendship, resulting in spiritual growth and a deeper appreciation for their destiny in the Lord His reason for making them and what He has planned for their lives (Training).
BRING A CLUB TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Backyard Bible Club is the name given to our summer outreach ministry for children! It is designed to take the Gospel to where children live, right in YOUR neighborhood. These clubs meet at the homes of regular attenders of Parkside Chapel. The church provides the curriculum and the funds to support this outreach effort.

WHEN DOES A BACKYARD CLUB MEET?
A Backyard Club may be held any week of the Summer after school dismisses in June and before classes resume in August. This five-day summer ministry meets Monday to Friday for an hour and fifteen minutes. YOU schedule the time in the morning, afternoon, or evening.
WHAT AGE KIDS WILL ATTEND?
BYBCs are designed for and work best for children entering grades 1 through 5. Children from your neighborhood receive a special invitation from you. Contact your key neighbors early to let them get the date on their calendar. Then distribute flyers and announcements the Friday or Saturday just before your club to a wider audience in your neighborhood. Some hosts have invited their child(ren)s classmates, swim team, etc.
WHO CAN BE A HOST? HOW ARE BACKYARD CLUBS STAFFED?
Anyone who has a friendly, loving relationship with, and interest in, their neighborhood children will be a great host! A willingness to work with a team of workers and a flexible attitude will also be an asset. It helps much if the host has children of their own, but it is not necessary to have a successful club.
BYBC is composed of a team of teacher(s), a host and a prayer leader, along with as many neighborhood children as you invite. YOU form your own outreach team Christian neighbors.concerned friends from PC.people from your small groupall work together to be Christs presence in an area by staffing and planning the details of your own club. This allows you to custom-make your club to your neighborhood.
